Subject: ADVOCACY ADVISORY: Solutions for fixing contracting
with small business offered at Congressional hearing
Small business advocates are urged to consider advancing
the SOLUTIONS offered by the FPA Think Tank at UNF
at a House Committee on Small Business hearing held
today in the nation’s capital.
The goal of the Think Tank Umbrella Initiative is
“to double the number of small businesses contracting
with the government by the year 2020.” Over
50 recommendations contained in documents by the Think
Tank were made available to House Members.
The Umbrella Initiative is being promoted for a congressionally
supported pilot in Florida before it is rolled out
nationally.

Fairness in Procurement Alliance (FPA)
The mission of FPA is to bring fairness to public
procurements so that small and disadvantaged businesses
can both compete and prosper at the federal, state
and local levels. FPA operates a Think Tank at UNF
and manages ‘The Umbrella Initiative’
whose goal is” to double the number of small
businesses contracting with the governement by the
year 2020.”
